The Power of Rest for Leaders

Look after you. Think of your career as a business. You are You, Inc. Imagine yours is a multi-million dollar business with valuable equipment that must be maintained to stay productive. It is. What price would you put on your ability to function? To walk, run, love, feed yourself? You are the CEO of your life so treat it like it is valuable. You don’t feed racehorses straw. You don’t put rubbish in a Ferrari. Rest is one of the first things to suffer when things get tough. Stress causes is to think about things, trying to find answers when we should be letting our brains rest and recharge overnight. How you relax can be helpful or harmful. Boozing to help you sleep will not give you quality sleep. Physical exertion will. If you are not well rested, you will not be effective. Tiredness affects your mood and your decision making skills. Take the time to get help. You are worth it!
