It’s time to talk about suicide. This is why workplace mental health matters for suicide prevention. In 2012 successful corporate executive Donna Thistlethwaite jumped from Brisbane’s Story Bridge in an attempt to take her own life. Today, she uses her experience to bring awareness to the workplace of caring for our mental health and those of others. She is also a finalist in the 2021 Mumpreneur Awards! Here as I interview Donna and ask some difficult questions about her experience and what we should know about suicide prevention. Donna is a speaker, trainer, and mental wellness advocate.

Please subscribe to Trish TV and remember to like, comment, and share, particularly with leaders and managers in Human Resources. It’s not just a workplace issue, though it has been a taboo topic in the workplace, which is why addressing the issue is important. With more people working from home, trying to juggle homeschooling, and disruption from the Covid 19 pandemic, it’s important to remember to check in (not up) on your remote staff.
And for the most self-interested business leader, poor mental health impairs performance and profitability. It actually pays to care.
